Class Descriptions:
 |
The first class is the Antler Basket and is one that many of you signed up for upon hearing about the class. Nancy Hoffman will be instructing you on the where's and how's to drill antlers, placing primary spokes, weaving them in place and adding the secondary spokes. Participants will be weaving on a small antler. If you have a large antler be sure to bring it along and Nancy can help you decide where to drill the antler and where you should place the primary spokes. The beauty of these baskets is they will all be different. Snack type food will be provided along with Coke zero and Sprite zero.

The sled is made on a Maple wooden base with runners. The spokes are round reed and it is woven with flat reed and a row of doubled round reed that is triple twined. The spokes then form the Gretchen braid that finishes the basket. A good basket to learn the Gretchen border.

It measures 12" long x 6" wide and is 9 ¾" tall ( weaving height ) Basket uses natural and smoke reed, is double lashed and has a wrapped handle. The handle wrap uses natural and smoked reed that makes a design on the handle that is created while weaving. This pattern can be applied to any basket.
