| Brief details of classes being offered: |
 |
Gift Basket 7 ½" base 10" top diameter and 8 ½" tall. This basket uses a 10" square swing handle and starts with a reed base that is square and is woven to achieve a round shape. A 1 ½" maple strip is woven in to help keep the round shape and round reed above and below the maple strip add to the finished look of the basket. |
| Basket Remedies This is the class to finish or start a basket project. Cost for attending is $5.00 plus any materials or kits that you would need. Remember - you provide the basket project and we provide the support!! |
 |
Cherokee Cross Tote 12 ½" long x 9" wide x 9 ½" tall (not including the handle). The color on this basket develops the design. A large sized tote with a reed bottom and a hand carved oak handle makes this a very pretty basket. It could serve many purposes. |
Last fall I asked Sally of Country Heritage in Pierceton if she would be interested in teaching a class on how to paint a table runner. She has agreed to do this and the description of the class is:
13" x 32" Table Runner - Participants will hand paint in primitive style either a Star Table Runner - Burgandy, Mustard and Dark Blue, or a Crow Table Runner - Mustard and Black. In addition to hand painting the canvas you will learn how to antique this piece and finish it by applying polyurethane. The cost for this project is $40.00 with a $20.00 deposit. All materials and instruction are included with this fee. Class should take approximately 3 hours. When mentioning this in class last year several were interested in this project and I think it will compliment your baskets. Sally owns Country Heritage in Pierceton, In. The Shop (going south) is just past the downtown area on Hwy. 13. If you haven't been there please stop. It is well worth the trip for unique and one of a kind primitives - many of which have been created by Sally! Her Winter Hours are: Wed.,Thurs.,Fri., & Sat. - 10:00 -5:00. If you have any questions regarding this project or any of the classes listed above please do not hesitate to call or email me.
Even though this winter has been very snowy I have been very busy. Made up lots of kits - tried some new designs - did get RIT Dyes in stock - cleaned cabin, shop and house - and have shoveled lots and lots of snow!
Also, I do want to thank all of you who have come out to make purchases during this weather. The Open House went very well - I was very pleased and I want to thank you all for your continued support and patronage.
Classes at the South Whitley Library have been well attended and we teach there on March 27th @ 6:00 pm - J. D.'s Market Basket. @ $26.00.
If interested in taking a class or the Table Runner please call or email in advance to reserve a space in class.
Hope to see or hear from you soon!
